Partner/ Networks
A thematic area on conflict preparedness and response systems is included in the current ECLF strategy document, and we are developing and testing a CEWERS model for use by researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. In order to increase the expertise of its practitioners, ECLF collaborated with the Zimbabwe National Defense University, which provides a CEWERS program, to hold a capacity development Workshop CEWERS. This customized workshop served as the foundation for a larger partnership between the academics and the peace practitioners to create praxis in this crucial field. Since the Zimbabwe National Defense University is a faculty member with expertise in this field, we firmly believe that it is a capable and strategic partner in the development of an efficient CEWER system. The workshop was specifically designed for the ECLF Secretariat, who also serve as community peace facilitators. It is intended that the knowledge and abilities acquired will be applied in the creation of a Training of Trainers program for the nation’s network of community facilitators.
The training’s outcomes were:
A deeper comprehension of CEWERS and practice in the context of Zimbabwe.
Improved abilities for early detection and reaction mechanism development.
Improved CEWER system knowledge and skills.
