About Us
Our Impact
Over the years, ECLF has made significant strides in promoting peace and justice throughout Zimbabwe. Our initiatives span across several regions, including Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South, Midlands, Masvingo, Mashonaland West, and Mashonaland Central.
With the support of our partners, we have:
- Facilitated over 500 community dialogues, leading to the peaceful resolution of local conflicts
- Trained more than 6000 individuals in conflict resolution and peacebuilding skills.
- Protected the rights of over 1,000 children through our child safeguarding programs, ensuring safer environments for the next generation.
- Empowered women and marginalized groups across the country, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in peace processes and development initiatives.

Creating Local Peace Committees
ECLF establishes and supports Local Peace Committees (LPCs) in communities to sustain peace and resolve conflicts at the grassroots level. These committees provide a local, sustainable solution to addressing and preventing conflict, fostering trust, and ensuring peaceful co-existence.
Global Standards
We ensure that our peacebuilding efforts are ethical, accountable, and impactful, we align with global peacebuilding standards, including the principles of "Do No Harm" and the Core Humanitarian Standards. We embed these commitments into our policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring that our work consistently promotes sustainable peace, respects human rights, and fosters social cohesion in every community we engage with.

ACT Alliance:
As part of a global coalition of churches and church-related organizations, ACT Alliance supports ECLF’s humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts, particularly in addressing community needs and advocating for peace.
Community Leaders and Local Organizations
In areas like Chivi,Tsholotsho,Beitbridge,Bikita,Mberengwa and Bulawayo, ECLF works closely with local leaders, village heads, and organizations to create peacebuilding solutions tailored to community needs. This collaboration includes organizing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) workshops and other community-driven initiatives.

Local Collaborations.
In 2023, ECLF and ZCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen faith-based peacebuilding efforts. Through this partnership, we work together on community dialogues, advocacy for social justice, and empowering faith leaders as peace champions

ECLF and UTCZ collaborate on integrating theological approaches into peacebuilding, promoting dialogue on justice, reconciliation, and social cohesion

Our partnership with UZ focuses on peace research, capacity-building, and academic engagement. Through joint research and training, we ensure that ECLF’s work is evidence-based and aligned with global peacebuilding best practices

Developing peace education curricula for schools and community programs. Conducting capacity-building workshops on conflict resolution. Supporting faith-based mediation and reconciliation efforts.

In January 2023, ECLF trained the leader of Nkonwa Foundation, which supports Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), in a Training of Trainers (ToT) program. This partnership strengthens inclusive peacebuilding by equipping leaders with conflict resolution and community development skills.
